Guidelines For Powered Paragliding (PPG) Training:

Each student will receive a VHS video tape of training for evalution of skills,
learning and fun for record of their activities. We ultilize a digital camera for
maximum training coaching and evaluation!

ALL students must be Full Members of USHGA* (see below,no ratings required just join
to receive Paragliding Mag, Membership and support USHGA) as well as please
supply if possible your own: Helmet (Full Face Preferred), Boots (Ankle High),
Gloves, Motorola TalkAbout (tm) Radio, Paraglider, Harness & Motor for
Solo Motor Flight. Training is $100 a day, but $50 extra per day if you do
not have gear. ALL towing and flights WILL be under radio supervision!

Step 1: Ground Handling- The Foundation of PPG

Demonstrations of Skills & Tasks (Referred as Demo following)
3- Proper Forward Inflation
3- Proper Reverse Inflation
2 Minutes of paraglider controlled kiting
Kiting in a figure eight around markers
Forward handling with direction change to avoid obstacles
!!!REQUIRED 15 hours ground handling as homework!!!

Step 2: Towing- Fly The Wing:
3 Low tows- No release
3 Med. or High tows- Release & Solo Piloting
(Any 2 landings must be within 100 feet of target)

Step 3:
Motor solos
3 forward launches
3 reverse launches
(Any 2 landings within 50 feet of target)

Rear Riser Steering *
Large Spiral Decent *
