Barn Hollow Nature Preserve
Photo Journal
The views from highway 1274 as you enter the property are amazing. There is a single entrance to the land in which trespassers would need to hike long distances to reach your house. The driveway and features of the property are very unique. Numerous boulders and chunks of mountain were moved long ago to create this entrance. Within the forest is a secret cave in which once had roads leading to it. The eastern border of the property runs along Barn Hollow Creek. Many of the hikes we took introduced us to local Plants and Animals. My Night Hiking experience left me with a respect for the size of the forest and knowing I would have a hard time finding neighbors if lost in the woods.
Our original photos of the area are from 1992 and include Old Highway 519.
