Old Highway 519

There was once this tunnel on Highway 519 a few miles from the property.  It was an amazing single lane tunnel going through the mountain.

Finding this tunnel only a few miles from the land was one of the original reasons for buying the land. You can see Jeremy sitting up on the ledge which lends some perspective to the size.

We never made it down Highway 519 on our last visit to Kentucky.  I hear that this tunnel has been removed in the last few years.  If it's true it's a sad thing.
