Barn Hollow Nature Preserve

Description

Many years ago while traveling through the Morehead Kentucky area, I encountered some very beautiful land that was for sale.  I purchased the land because in my estimation, it was very special.  I don't know how to best describe the uniqueness of the property.  No picture seems to show the magnitude of the surroundings, or the isolation.  I'll do my best.

First of all, the 20 acres are within the Daniel Boone National Forest.  The terrain is hilly.  There is an asphalt road (1274) that runs along the west side of property. Hence, there is access from the road. Actually, the entrance is quite spectacular. The road was cut through Bangor hill as the road came up from the Licking River, otherwise known in this area as Cave Run Lake.  Hence, the entire west side of the property has about a 90 foot cliff with the exception of a dynamited entrance. This entrance faces east towards Barn Hollow. To the best of my knowledge, no other property lies within Barn Hollow. The view is spectacular.  The trees go on for miles. A house built on this property will never see another house light at night in any direction.

There are beautiful, tall, sandstone cliffs on the property.  There is even a high scenic view overlooking Cave Run Lake.  The trees have not been logged and are valuable and beautiful.  I bought this property for its isolation and natural beauty but I would find it difficult selling it to someone who wanted to put up cabins.  The land is very special and desires more.
