Barn Hollow Creek

As you walk down the hillside to the south of the property you reach a creek that parallels highway 1274 that is running north.  This is Barn Hollow Creek.

 

The water is very clean and crisp.  I would approximate the flow to be approximately 3 gallons per minute during the drought period we saw it.

 

The edges of the creek climb quickly to form the hills above.

 

This area was somewhat bog-like in nature.  At this point we see the merging of Barn Hollow Creek and Cave Brance Creek.

Down at the bottom of the hill the land flattens out quite a bit.  This is rare to find.

 

There were many interesting rocks covered by moss and mountain laurel.  You wonder where the plants can obtain their nutrition from growing out of rock alone.
